You don’t have to figure this out alone.

Sometimes parents simply need clarity. Other times I help identify helpful resources or referrals from a trusted network of therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other specialists. Either way, the goal is to help you better understand what may be happening and feel confident about the path forward.

The reason I started South Shore Family Guidance was to help families navigate school concerns, emotional challenges, and decisions around therapy, evaluations, or school support. I kept hearing from parents in our community who felt overwhelmed and unsure how to get the help their child needed. I wanted to create a place where families could slow down, gain clarity, and move forward with thoughtful guidance.

About the Consultation

Graduate-trained school adjustment counselor supporting families across school and clinical settings.

Serving families across Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate, Norwell, and surrounding South Shore communities.

Free 20-minute consultation to discuss your concerns and possible next steps.

This service focuses on guidance and referral navigation and does not provide therapy or diagnostic evaluation.

What Happens During the Consultation

A parent consultation is a focused conversation to better understand what may be going on with your child and determine the right support.

During the session we review what you’re noticing at home, at school, and socially.

Together we identify patterns and discuss the types of supports that may be most helpful.

What You Receive After the Consultation

After the consultation you receive a brief written summary outlining key themes and recommended next steps.

I research and vet therapists and specialists who may be a strong match for your family, including providers who accept your insurance, specialize in your child’s needs, and have availability that fits your schedule.

While the consultation lasts 60 minutes, much of the value comes afterward. I take what we discuss and develop a clear plan with carefully researched therapists and resources who match your child’s needs, accept your insurance, and have availability that fits your family’s schedule.

You’ll have clarity, well-matched options, and a thoughtful plan for moving forward

Parents Often Reach Out When:

• Something about their child’s behavior, mood, or school experience feels “off,” but they’re not sure why.

• A child is struggling with anxiety, friendships, school stress, or big emotions at home.

• Parents are unsure whether therapy, school support, or an evaluation might be helpful.

• Families feel stuck navigating waitlists or trying to find the right therapist.

• Parents want a thoughtful, professional perspective before deciding what to do next.

If any of this sounds familiar, a parent consultation can help you think through the next step.

Many parents reach out when something about their child feels off, but they are not sure what it means or what the right next step should be.

This consultation is a space to slow down, talk through what you are seeing, and think together about how best to support your child.

During our conversation we look at the bigger picture of your child’s emotional well-being, behavior, friendships, school experience, and family context. My goal is to help you leave the session with greater clarity and a thoughtful plan for what may help your child moving forward.

The goal of this process is to help families feel less overwhelmed and more confident about how to move forward in supporting their child.

  • 50 minutes | $200
